How do I choose a Ragdoll?
Overall: The ideal Ragdoll has a medium to large build, medium length fur, blue eyes, and body color accents. The point color pattern may be covered by a patch of white hair. The head forms a broad equilateral triangle with two slightly rounded whisker pads at the base.
Head: Large and wide, but proportional. A triangle with equal sides, the three sides refer to the distance from the outside of the base of the ear to the slightly rounded beard pad. A flat surface is formed between the ears. The cheeks are gathered in a V shape. Adult male cats can have gill meat. The bone structure of the face is revealed as the beard and hair are pushed back smoothly with the hand.
Ears: Cat ears should be clean and free of discharge. If the cat is constantly scratching its ears or shaking its head, it may have been infected with ear scabies.
Eyes: The eyes should be clear and bright, with no discharge from the corners of the eyes (except in Persian and Himalayan cats), and the third eyelid should not be exposed from the corner of the eye (the third eyelid appears first in many cats).
Nose: The cat's nose should feel cool and moist with the back of the hand on the tip of the cat's nose, with no nasal discharge or secretions around the nostrils.
Anus: should be clean and free of diarrhea, and the surrounding hair should be clean and free of contamination.
Abdomen: The cat's abdomen should be slightly round, and the ribs should not be felt. If the cat's abdomen is enlarged, it may be a symptom of roundworm infection or peritonitis.
Legs: Strong bones, medium long. The hind legs are longer than the front legs. The hair on the front legs is shorter, while the hair on the hind legs is longer, as if wearing full and flowing breeches.
Hair: The most obvious indicator of a kitten's health is its hair. A healthy kitten's coat should be shiny, fluffy, and erect. If the kitten's hair is messy and dull, it means that it has been infected with a disease, or has been sick and has just been cured. It is best not to choose such a cat. Check the inner coat for parasites or black splotches of worms.
Coat color: Ragdoll cats are bred into three colors
(1) Two-color Ragdoll cat: light-colored trunk, dark face, ears and tail, chest, abdomen and limbs are white.
(2) Ragdoll cat with point color: the color of the trunk is lighter and the color point is darker.
(3) Fingerless Ragdoll: Like the point color Ragdoll, its chest, bust, lower jaw and front paws are white. The key colors of the fur are seal dots, chocolate dots, blue and lilac dots.
Trunk: Large, long, broad and strong, with strong bones. The body is rectangular in shape, with a full chest and equal width at the shoulders and hips. The body is strong and muscular, not obese.
Physique: Whether the cat's tail is too short, and whether the tail, paws and back are deformed. Whether the limbs are too short. Observe whether the kitten is energetic, and whether the movements are flexible and healthy.
Appearance: Shorter on the face, slightly longer on the ruff, shorter on the shoulders, growing towards the tail. Unneutered adult cats may have shorter coats, and seasonal changes can also affect coat length.
Vaccines: Is there a pet manual or relevant information to prove that the 5-in-1 vaccine has been administered, and another dose of 5-in-1 is given after 3-4 weeks, and then Additional vaccinations are given every three years.
