Coat: The coat is fairly short, straight, hard and weather resistant with a dense undercoat. The hair on the head, ears, and underside of the legs is very short. The hair is slightly longer around the neck, forming a scarf, and the tail and the back of the thighs are also longer. The hair is close to the body, neither standing nor drooping. The base color varies from camel to mahogany with black tips.
Personality: The Malinois is very confident and neither shy nor aggressive in new surroundings. Reserved towards strangers but very friendly to their owners. Naturally protective of themselves and their property, but not overly aggressive. Has a strong desire to work and responds quickly to the master's commands.
