Post-neutering care points
Dog recovery from spaying , not every dog is the same. Generally, male dogs recover much faster than female dogs, because the surgery is performed outside the body and does not touch the abdominal cavity. The female dog will touch the intestines and internal organs, etc., but in order to avoid wound infection, it is very important to keep the wound dry, not wet, not bathing.
In addition, don't let the dog lick the wound, because licking will cause the wound to become inflamed, swollen, or even bitten. If this happens, you must take it back to the animal hospital as soon as possible to help it re-suture . The wound of the bitch is very long, it is best to have someone to accompany her for the first two or three days to prevent her from licking the wound. Dress it up with clothing that will cover the wound, or give it an Elizabethan collar.
On the day of the operation, because I have to fast for 12 hours, it is best not to eat immediately after taking it home. The anesthetic has not completely expired, and I still vomit after swallowing. When the female dog is neutered, the abdominal cavity will be moved, and even the intestines may be turned out. So be sure to wait for the first bowel movement before giving it a normal diet. Before there is no stool, you can only feed it half of the usual amount, so as not to eat too much, the intestines will be knotted, and the stomach will have inexplicable pain, so pay special attention.
In fact, when a dog is neutered, a maximum of 2 ml of blood can be shed, and no special nutritional supplements are needed. After the operation, it takes 7 to 10 days for the wound to recover. The veterinarian will prescribe oral anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving drugs for the dog, and then take it back to the animal hospital to check whether the stitches can be removed. When the dog recovers well and the stitches are removed, you can take a bath and everything is OK.
