【Fungal skin disease】Focus on understanding
1. Symptoms
After the cat's skin is infected with fungus, it usually occurs on the head, ears, limbs, toes and claws and trunk and other parts. The skin of the affected area is depilated, a ring-shaped scaly patch appears, and damaged hair roots remain, and sometimes the affected area is completely depilated. In severe cases, erythema or crusts may form. When hair begins to grow in the middle of the ringworm spot, the hair loss around it continues. The affected part is itchy, and when some cats scratch the secondary bacterial infection, the exudation is severe, and the affected part of the skin can be seen to be red, swollen and eroded, and in severe cases, pus can be seen. The development of dermatophytosis generally spreads from the middle to the surrounding circles. If not treated in time, it will turn into a chronic disease with a long course. After the above symptoms appear, parents must take the cat to the veterinary hospital for examination.
2. Treatment
(1) Local treatment: It is recommended to shave the whole body for long-haired cats. Special care should be taken not to shave the skin to avoid the spread of the lesion. Ringworm net and tinea net are recommended for external use. If it is yeast, ketoconazole should be selected.
(2) Systemic treatment: After 2 to 4 weeks of local treatment, if there is still no significant improvement, it is recommended to switch to oral drug treatment.

If there is a window sill at home that can receive sunlight for a period of time every day, just arrange a place for the cat to rest there, and the cat can look at the scenery outside the house and bask in the sun. It's important to stay dry in the sun. However, long-term exposure to the sun may cause heat stroke and sunburn, parents should pay attention!
