Mangrove spider (Latin name: Tapinauchenius gigas), also known as mangrove bird-eating spider and Guyana orange tree spider, is native to the French Guiana rainforest, although the genus Tapinauchenius is closely related to the genus Avicularia close, but their appearance and character are completely different. While pink-toeds are mostly slow and docile, the smaller arboreal tarantulas of the Tapinauchenius genus are more aggressive and very fast.

The adult body length is 13-14 cm. As a relatively early species discovered and popularized in this genus, the price of mangrove tarantulas is also the lowest in this genus. However, their color is still very good. Adult individuals have a yellow-green back armor, but the most striking thing is their bright red outfit, which is also the origin of their Chinese name.

The suitable temperature is 26~28℃, and the suitable humidity is 85%. It is recommended to use moist peat, coconut brick and clay as the substrate. Their juveniles do look a bit like those of the genus Pinktoed, but don't be fooled. Compared with the little pink toes, they only run away or jump a little. Their speed of action is like flying. Once alerted, they will quickly run away without a trace in front of you. In addition, after a certain size, they may have some aggressiveness. You need to pay attention to this problem in breeding, and don't get started with them easily to avoid being bitten. This is also a pet tarantula species that is only recommended for lovers with some breeding experience, and is not suitable for beginners to try for the first time.
