The head of the white striped brocade snake is slightly oval, and the tail is slender, with a total length of about 1 meter. There are three dark brown stripes on the top of the head, the first one is thin or inconspicuous, crossing the nasal scales, the cheek scales, the preorbital scales and reaching the eyes; the second one is weak and wide, crossing the eye. The forehead scale runs obliquely backward through the upper corner of the preorbital scale until the eye meets the previous one, and the eye is a thick black stripe obliquely reaching the corner of the mouth; the third is the widest, transverse to the frontal scale, along the left and right supraorbital scales, and the outer half of the parietal scale respectively. After reaching the pillow, the two sides are connected in a bell shape to form a special pillow pattern. The markings on the top of the head are especially noticeable in young snakes.

White SnakeThree light colored stripes on the back of the tail Longitudinal stripes; one narrow and indistinct on the front and back, often interrupted by black spots, two wider on both sides. The two outer spots of the ventral scale and the subcaudal scale are thick and intermittently connected like a chain; some individuals still have small brown-red spots scattered on both sides of the abdomen.
