2021-02-09 / 170 Read

The sex distinction of Burmese tortoises is roughly the same as that of most tortoises, generally based on the different shapes of their carapace, tail, abdomen, and the distance of the excretory hole from the rear edge of the plastron.

How

Under normal circumstances, the carapace of female tortoises grows after adulthood The carapace of males will be wider, and the carapace of males is narrower and longer than that of females; the tail of females is slender and the tail of males is long and thick; the abdomen of females remains flat after adulthood The abdomen of male turtles is concave after adulthood; the distance between the excretory hole and the rear edge of the plastron in female turtles is relatively close, and the distance between the excretory hole in male turtles and the rear edge of the plastron is farther.
