Mississippi map turtles are aquatic turtles that live in clear rivers and lakes. Omnivorous, under artificial feeding conditions, likes to eat small fish, Tenebrio molitor, lean pork and mixed feed, actively preys when above 20°C, hibernates below 0°C, and hibernates safely and naturally at ambient temperature of 0-5°C.

When the Mississippi map turtle is hibernating, its physical condition should be checked every month, but not Check frequently, otherwise it will disturb the hibernation of the Mississippi map turtle, make it unable to enter the hibernation state, and even cause the Mississippi map turtle to die. Secondly, Mississippi map turtles are not very interested in food after hibernation, and it takes about two days to adjust. It is good to mix the right amount of nutritional drugs and antibiotics in the feed. After the food intake of the Mississippi map turtles recovers, the feed will be put in at a normal ratio.
