The yellow-fronted box turtle is a species of turtle that can be bred in captivity. They can hibernate in winter. Whether wild or captive, they can go into hibernation. Yellow-fronted sea turtles usually don't dig bedding materials, we need to prepare a hibernation shelter for them, and fill them with moisturizing materials such as sphagnum moss and dead leaves! The best hibernation environment is a corner without sunlight!

The hibernation time of the yellow-fronted tortoise is not certain, will be affected by the surrounding water temperature. When the water temperature is 28 degrees, the appetite of the yellow-fronted sea turtle is the strongest, and when it is below 22 degrees, the appetite begins to decline. When the water temperature is lower than 17 degrees, they will basically not eat and begin to slowly enter the state of hibernation. When the yellow-fronted sea turtle is in hibernation, the water temperature should be kept at about 15 degrees, not too low.
