The nick is shallow and the notch angle is larger.

Male loggerhead turtles have long and narrow carapaces, and the center of the plastron is slightly toward the Inset, the tail is thick and long, the base of the tail is thick, the cloaca is far away from the rear edge of the plastron, the two anal shields of the plastron are deeply nicked, and the notch angle is small.
Adult Atlantic loggerhead turtles in the same year, males are thinner and smaller; females are round, thicker and larger.
