Ringed map turtles can live well in captivity, but must be cared for in the correct way. For the most part, their care methods are similar to those for sliding and painted turtles.
Usually the size and number of ringed map turtles determine the characteristics of the breeding grounds. If you have larger female turtles, or have several turtles, a large tub or cistern may be the best type, as they come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Ringed map turtles can be kept outdoors in most areas, as long as the animals are properly guarded against escape and well prepared for overwintering animals.

If you keep it outdoors, you can put a fiberglass sink or water storage The pools are buried in the ground and surrounded by fences or walls to prevent the escape of the ringed map turtles and to protect them from predation. Outdoor breeding grounds are closest to natural conditions, which will facilitate artificial breeding. Indoor venues can also be used, but due to the large size of the animals, the venue must be large to ensure adequate space.
