The donut turtle is a type of turtle that can be raised in captivity. Their shape is rather peculiar, and when they grow up, their back shell pattern looks like a doughnut, hence the name. It is a water turtle that usually stays in the water for a relatively long period of time. However, judging from the depth of their waters, they are not considered deep-water turtles. The waters in which wild donut turtles are found are relatively shallow, as they often come ashore to bask in the sun.

If they are raised in captivity, it is not appropriate to use too much deep water. Especially when the donut turtles are still relatively small, in order to prevent them from drowning, the water level should not be too high, and they can be raised directly in shallow water. In addition, considering that they have relatively high requirements for sun exposure, it is better to put a sunbathing platform for them in the container, so that it is more convenient for them to bask in the sun.
