The Florida box turtle is a typical omnivorous turtle, eating not only fruits and vegetables, but also some insects, fish and shrimp, so the choice of food is very rich. The following types of ingredientsFlorida box turtles are the best to eat.

1. Plant feed. The vegetarian feed for reptiles should be made of various raw materials, and the ratio of calcium to phosphorus should be maintained at about 1:1. Too much phosphorus in food can cause metabolic problems. Cabbage is a suitable vegetable feed. Carrots and beets can be cooked to make them soft, stirred evenly, and used as feed after cooling. Alfalfa twigs, green beans, green beans, pea pods, soybean leaves, wet alfalfa, dandelion leaves and flowers, clover, and hibiscus flowers are all good foods. It should be noted that when the feed contains some high-protein vegetables like soybeans and peas, these high-protein vegetables cannot be fed only.
2. Animal feed. Crickets, grasshoppers, whiteflies, wax worms, red worms, large earthworms, butterfly moth larvae, etc. Other animal feeds include fresh small fish, beef hearts, chicken and offal, and high-quality low-fat dog food.
3. Calcium supplementation. Florida box turtles can get more than 20 hours of sunlight per week, so they don't need vitamin D3 supplements, and too much supplementation can cause problems. Vitamin D3 aids in calcium absorption and needs to be supplemented regularly if the Florida box turtle is kept indoors.
