The hump can grow up to 90cm. It likes to live alone and mainly feeds on bottom-growing seaweed. After understanding these, let's take a look at the morphological characteristics of the hump crane!

The hump hanging body is oblong and flat on the side, and there are two shield-shaped bone plates on the tail handle , each with a keel. The head is small, and as it grows, the forehead of the male hump hanging in front of the eyes gradually protrudes to form a short and bluntly rounded horn-like protrusion. The horn-shaped protrusion and the muzzle are at a 45° angle. As it grows, a protrusion bulges on the back, hence the name hump hanging. Mouth small, terminal, with 1 row of teeth on the upper and lower jaws, the teeth are slightly flat and sharp, and there may be serrated teeth on both sides. The spines of the dorsal and anal fins are sharp, and none of the rays are elongated; the caudal fin is flattened, and the upper and lower leaf margins are elongated like silk.
