Common diseases and treatment methods of Ryukyu rabbits:
1. Rabbit plague: also known as rabbit viral hemorrhage, is an acute infectious disease caused by rabbit plague virus infection. Young and adult Ryukyu rabbits are very harmful, and milk rabbits generally do not get sick. It often breaks out in early spring, and once it occurs, it quickly spreads to the whole group, and the mortality rate is above 95%.
Treatment methods: Inoculation of rabbit plague vaccine for prevention, injection of 1 ml for 1-2 month old Ryukyu rabbits and 2 ml for adult Ryukyu rabbits can effectively prevent the disease from occurring.

2. Rabbit mite disease: common in the feet and claws of Ryukyu rabbits , nose and outer ear. Ryukyu rabbits will experience severe itching, skin inflammation and even hair loss. Due to the unbearable itching, they rub, scratch or bite everywhere, causing Ryukyu rabbits to lose their appetite and lose weight day by day.
Methods of treatment: Thoroughly clean the Ryukyu rabbit enclosure and contaminated utensils, and then disinfect. Keep the barn ventilated, light and dry. Wash the affected part of the Ryukyu rabbit with hot water and then apply sulfur ointment, once every 3 days for 2-3 times in a row to recover.
