How yellow-breasted buntings breed
The breeding method of the yellow-breasted bunting is oviparous. Its breeding season is from May to July, usually from the end of April to the beginning of May, when the male birds can be seen courting. Generally, only 1 litter is reproduced per year, and each litter lays 3-6 eggs.
The eggs are round, greenish-gray in color with taupe markings. After the eggs are laid, they are co-incubated by male and female birds, and the incubation period is about 13 days.
