White-eye is a collective name for 97 species of birds in the family White-eye of the passerine order. Small in size, 90-122 mm in length; small mouth, half the length of the head, with a slightly downwardly curved mouth; nostrils covered by membranes; retractable tongue, with horny and rigid fiber clusters at the apex; round and long wings; short tail ; tarsus long and healthy. Male and female are similar. Because of its eye circles surrounded by some obvious white velvet-like short feathers, the distinctive white eye circles are called embroidered eyes.
