Long ears (scientific name: Asio otus), long ear feathers, located on both sides of the top of the head, erect like ears. The face plate is conspicuous, brownish-yellow, wrinkled intact, white with black-brown. The upper body is brownish-yellow, and is densely mixed with thick black-brown feather lines; the chin is white, and the rest of the lower body is brownish-white with thick black-brown feather lines. There are dendritic transverse branches on both sides of the feather bar below the abdomen. The tarsus and toes are densely covered with brownish-yellow feathers, and the eyes are orange-red. Feeds on mice, birds, fish, frogs and insects. It has a positive effect on rodent control and should be vigorously protected. It belongs to China's national second-class protected animal.
