Many friends will have this question: Can guinea pigs take a bath? Can guinea pigs be bathed frequently? Let's take a look at the precautions for taking a bath with guinea pigs.

First of all, guinea pigs can take a bath, but guinea pigs who have just arrived home should not take a bath, for fear of causing them a stress reaction. It is best to wait ten days and a half months before the guinea pigs have adapted to the environment. The temperature of the water should not be too low or too high, preferably around 40 degrees Celsius.
When the guinea pig takes a bath, it should be wiped clean with a dry towel immediately. When shampooing, do not wash it directly with water to prevent water from entering the guinea pig's ears, nostrils, snot, and eyes. Therefore, use wet towels and gauze wipes to slowly Just wipe the guinea pig's body.

In different seasons, different genders and different breeding environments, the frequency of bathing for guinea pigs is different, and there is no fixed bathing frequency. In winter, it is recommended to do it once or twice a month. In summer, it is recommended to wash 3-5 times a month. If the temperature of the breeding environment is high, the weather is dry, or the guinea pigs are dirty and smelly, they can be washed 4-6 times a month, and frequent bathing is not recommended.
