How to train cats? Cats can train like this!

Cat training and dog training are not the same thing. Generally speaking, for people who are used to training dogs or other animals, the process of training cats is more challenging because it is different from other animals. Compared to pets, kittens are more independent and less concerned about human opinions. But with the right skills and enough patience, you can train your kitty to be a happy, healthy, and (most importantly) obedient companion.

1. Give the mother cat at least eight weeks to domesticate the kittens.

Generally, kittens require at least two months of acclimatization by their mother before they can be separated from their mother. During this time, the task of training the kittens to be well-behaved and obedient house cats is largely done by the mother cat.

Kittens begin weaning at about one month of age and are fully weaned on solid food by eight weeks. If the mother cat has a litter of kittens and you are completely weaning them, make sure the mother cat and the children are together for at least two months before separating. The mother cat will teach the kittens to recognize their own abilities, eat properly and use the litter box.

2. Be patient in the process of domesticating kittens.

You can't force the kitty, when the kitty is around you, your best weapon is to give it patience and positive rewards so that the kitty will associate you with a pleasant experience .

3. Positive reinforcement.

Stroking or yelling at a kitten when it's making a mess in the house is the wrong way to train. You need to reward the behavior you expect in order to achieve positive reinforcement, so that the kitten can correct its previous behavior. This is the easiest way to correct your cat's behavior.

4. Don't punish the kitten.

Punishing the kitty may seem like an improvement, but doing so will make it more cunning. For example, a kitten urinates on the rug in the center of the living room. If you punish or intimidate it for this, it will associate the punishment with you, not with urinating on the carpet. This way, the kitty will be careful not to urinate in your face in the future.

5. When you disapprove of the kitten's behavior, imitate the mother cat's meow.

The mother cat makes a clicking sound in the back of her throat when she reprimands her kitten, which you can try to imitate. Try things that kittens are used to, it will be more effective and more suitable for training kittens.
