How often should a cat be dewormed? When should a cat be dewormed?

In spring, everything recovers and the rain is abundant, which is the peak season for bacterial growth. Especially in the southern region, it has not stopped raining since the Spring Festival, and is immersed in a wet environment every day. Bacteria and fungi like to grow in this environment, so it is very important to deworm and prevent cats. How often should a cat be dewormed? When should a cat be dewormed?

How often to deworm cats, I think the most scientific deworming frequency is once a month insect. Because most parasites have a growth cycle (from infection of larvae to adult egg laying time) of less than a month. Like common fleas, the shortest growth cycle is only 14 days, and common gastrointestinal parasites can complete their life cycle in 1 month. During this time, the parasites grow and reproduce and lay eggs, and more parasites will grow. If the cat is not dewormed in time, the cat will be infected with new parasites anytime and anywhere. Therefore, it is best to deworm your cat on time every month.

The parasites on cats are generally divided into two categories: internal and external.

      1. Internal parasites

Roundworms, tapeworms, coccidia, hookworms, trichomonas, flagellates piriformis, and filarial worms that live in the blood and heart. After the cat is infected, the main symptoms are diarrhea, vomiting, soft stool, blood in the stool, anemia, malnutrition, and increasing weight loss.

Ascaris, tapeworms, coccidia, and flagellates are mainly infected by oral ingestion. Generally, cats ingest parasitic-infected food and water, or come into contact with contaminated feces. Infection; tapeworms are mainly infected by cats ingesting fleas in the process of licking their hair; roundworm infections are mostly in kittens, mainly transmitted by cat mothers through placenta or milk to kittens.

      2. External parasites

The common external parasites are mainly fleas, lice, scabies Insects and ticks, etc., are generally parasitic in the cat's hair and skin surface. The main symptoms of cat infection with ectoparasites are itching, redness, and inflammation of the skin.

Flea, tick, and tick infestations occur most often during the summer months, and humans can bring fleas, ticks, or ticks home and infect cats indirectly, even when cats are not out. At the same time, some bugs themselves carry other parasites. For example, mosquitoes and fleas can transmit heartworm by sucking blood, and ticks can transmit scorched worms by sucking blood.

Therefore, neither endoparasites nor ectoparasites can be neglected.

Deworming cats is the most effective way to deal with parasites. The Blein for my cat is a quadruple-action formula consisting of fipronil (S)-methoprene, acetamido-avermectin, and praziquantel. The first two drugs are mainly for external parasites such as ticks, fleas, flea eggs, larvae and flea pupae, ear itching mites, cat scabies, lice, etc. The latter two drugs are mainly for roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, heartworms, Lung worms, bladder nematodes and other internal parasites. In general, the range of deworming is particularly wide, and it is the brand with the most types of deworming among the current mainstream cat deworming drugs. It is suitable for cats over 7 weeks old and weighing more than 0.6kg. The usage is also very simple. Just remove the hair on the shoulders and neck of the cat and drop the medicine on the skin.

Finally, I would like to remind everyone that deworming medicines for cats are toxic and irritating. If the cat accidentally eats it and causes drooling, don't worry, it will recover on its own after two or three days.
