Reasons for dystocia in bitches:

Symptoms of dystocia in bitches:

1. Past medical history of dystocia or genital tract obstruction; rectal cooling (down to 37°C) continued for 24 hours without Birth;

2. The strong contraction of the abdominal wall lasted for 30-60 minutes, and the newborn fetus was not delivered;

3. No pups were discharged after 1-2 hours of active delivery;

4. During active labor, the rest period is more than 2 hours;

5. The dog has obvious pain (groaning, licking and gnawing on the vulva); the vagina has dark, pus-like or blood-like secretions;

6. Prolonged pregnancy (more than 65 days).

Treatment of dystocia for bitches:

1. Since most dogs give birth at night, it is necessary to contact the nearby 24-hour business in advance when the due date is approaching animal hospital.

2. Due to the difficulty in correcting the fetal position in the uterus of the female dog, midwifery measures should be implemented quickly after the cause is identified.
