What can goldfish eat?

2022-01-02 / 654 Read

petnet has learned that gold fish is an omnivorous ornamental fish temporarily bred and bred by humans. Like crucian carp, it eats both animal feed and plant feed. If you have the heart, you can find that almost everything loves to eat. As long as it is something that is visible and within reach, goldfish will be eager to taste it. When hungry, they don't even spare their own feces.

There are indeed many things I really like to eat. Animals are: planktonic fleas (that is, fish, worms, red worms, etc.) water earthworms (nematodes) larvae, cooked egg yolks, earthworms, insects of suitable size... Plants are: yellow algae, diatoms, green algae Algae, weed, duckweed, aquatic plants, bran, bean cakes, noodles, rice, bread... In addition, there are a variety of dry food - dried red worms and artificial feed to choose from. Raised goldfish must not have such a good taste, right? It doesn't matter, goldfish are not too picky eaters. It is no problem to eat the same food for a lifetime. As long as they are alive, they will eat with relish.

It is generally believed that it is best to feed live food (such as red worms, water worms, etc.), goldfish will grow quickly, and feeding dry worms or artificial feed is an expedient measure, and there is no method. However, the author has raised goldfish for nearly 20 years, but came to the opposite conclusion. If you are a goldfish lover and you keep it indoors in a glass tank, then the experience will be very useful.

Live food (such as red worms, water earthworms, etc.) is rich in nutrients and has the best palatability. But usually only in filthy ponds, ditches and puddles, fish caught from these natural bodies of water carry a lot of bacteria and parasites. General cleaning is not easy to remove. Goldfish temporarily feed on this food and will inevitably get sick. The more common white spot disease (small melon worm disease), gill rot disease and third-generation worm disease, are precisely the three most difficult to cure. If detected in time, it can be cured. But the pathogen is that the goldfish will get the same disease soon after it enters the fish tank with each feeding. After doing this several times, not to mention that it is a blow to the fish farmers, the goldfish itself can't stand the decline in physique, the body is thin, the ornamental value is gradually lost...the fate of premature death is inevitable.
