Kissing fish are oviparous fish and are easier to breed. The optimum water temperature for reproduction is about 28 degrees, and the water hardness is about 9 degrees. Females lay their eggs on the water surface, while males do not build floating nests. Fertilized eggs hatch within 24 hours of fry.
