Poodle Daily Care:

1. Bristles

Before bathing and trimming, brush the bristles to ensure that the bristles are not tangled. The knots in the poodle's hair will get bigger after the bath, so it is important to untangle the knots before bathing the poodle. Use a needle brush to brush the poodle's beard, limbs and undercoat to make sure it doesn't tangle. Start from the top and brush up against the natural direction of the bristles, and then brush from the top down. Some people refer to this method as the straight bristle method.

Second, trim the nails

When trimming the VIP's nails, be careful not to cut them too short to avoid bleeding. Use the clippers to cut little by little until you can see the dark ring in the middle of the nail. This is near the edge of the nail flesh and blood vessels. Someone uses an electric nail polisher for pet care, and the high speed of the electric appliance exceeds the need for trimming a poodle. It is suitable for larger VIPs. Be careful with electric nail polishers, because if you're not careful, the poodle hair can get tangled up on the rotating rod.

3. Bathing

The VIP should bathe as often as possible, depending on how dirty it is. The water for bathing the VIP should be lukewarm, not too hot. Be careful not to get water and shampoo into the ears, eyes and mouth of the VIP when you bathe it. You can put cotton balls in the VIP's ears to avoid getting water into the ear canal. When rinsing the beard, keep the water jet away from the poodle's head and run the water down vertically. Wet the top of the head, tilt the VIP's head up, and spray down the back. To get your stomach wet, lift your front legs so your weight is on your hind legs.

Fourth, blow dry

When using a towel to dry the limbs and beard of the VIP, do not rub hard but squeeze out the excess water to prevent the VIP hair from tangling. A tip for exhibitors is to tie the hair dryer to your waist, which frees up your hands to brush your beard and eyebrows down. The hair on the legs should be combed upwards, starting with a needle comb, and when the legs are almost dry, switch to a scraper brush. Squeegee brushes break off poodle hairs when used on wet extremities. The secret to fluffy and upright limbs is to make sure the legs are blown straight and completely dry.

Five, plucking the ear hairs

Trim the ears with a blade, trim the outer side of the ear forward, and trim the inner side reversely. Pour a little ear powder into the ear canal, and use tweezers to pull out the stray hairs in the ear. After cleaning, pour in a little ear oil for cleaning, and dry with a cotton swab, taking extra care to avoid irritating reactions in the ears.
