The body shape is short and round, and there is no large area defect in the fur. The small area of hair shortage may be molted or rubbed off.

Look at the overall cat body: Chinchilla's body hair is thin, dense and uniform, and there is no exposed skin or human-like dandruff after blowing the cat body hair away with the mouth , Tail hair should be thin and stiff, no lack of hair and dandruff-like objects. (Note: Chinchillas that lack hair may have fungus or hair-biting disease, remember)

2. Color of the chinchilla

No matter what color of chinchilla, choose a lively and active nature. The running and jumping movements are flexible, and the walking does not shake or sway. This is healthy, and the active movement should not be too exaggerated. After normal play, it can be stopped. Do not have sudden hair bites, mania, crazy jumping, biting cages and other phenomena. Usually, chinchillas sleep during the day. Like a timid chinchilla, when a stranger is approaching, it will panic, squeak from time to time, and sometimes even lose hair because of fear. It is a normal phenomenon.

3. Eyes

There is no smear around the eyes of Chinchillas, no redness and swelling. Do not pick chinchillas with a lot of yellow-green eye stains, or redness around the eyes, as the eyes may be inflamed.

The anus of chinchillas should be clean, without loose stools or dirt. Normal chinchilla feces should be hard, oval about half a centimeter long, dark green or dark brown, otherwise there will be symptoms of indigestion. 6. Tail

Grab the chinchilla's tail with your right hand and place it on your left arm. Blow on the back of the chinchilla, it is better that no obvious skin can be seen after the fur is scattered, otherwise it means that the breed is not good.

7. Gender

Relatively speaking, male chinchillas are better tempered than female chinchillas, and female chinchillas are more prone to nervousness and irritability during the breeding season. If you don't plan to breed, buy male chinchillas first. Buy a pair of chinchillas. If the females are not 8 months old, they must be kept in separate cages. Premature pregnancy can easily lead to dystocia.

8. Age

The last point, and the most important point, is that the suitable breeding age is more than 3 months. Female cats are prone to health problems and a higher mortality rate.

The excrement of a healthy chinchilla should be dark brown oblong with high hardness. If you find that the chinchilla's stool is soft or loose, it means that the chinchilla is sick, so don't buy it.
