Norwegian sheepdog, native to Norway, according to legend, Vikings have a tradition of burying their dogs when burying the dead. Archaeologists have found skeletons of six dogs of varying sizes in Viking tombs, seemingly confirming the legend. At that time, the breed of dogs raised by the Vikings was the ancestor of the Norwegian Shepherd. In addition to herding sheep, they also traveled with pirates. In modern times, the dog was improved in western Norway. In the 1920s it participated in dog shows in Yellen, Norway, and in 1939 the Norwegian Shepherd Club was established.

2. Characteristics of Norwegian Shepherds

Body size: Male Norwegian Shepherds are 43-47cm high at the shoulders, and female Norwegian Shepherds are 41-45cm high at the shoulders. Male Norwegian Shepherds weigh 14-18kg and female Norwegian Shepherds 12-16kg.

Head: Eyes oval, black in color, ears of medium size, erect; head wedge-shaped and clean. Males and females are evident. The skull is almost flat and the bridge of the nose is straight. The muzzle is as long as the skull, neither too broad nor too narrow. Teeth: Scissors bite, teeth intact. The neck is medium in size and clean.

BODY: Back and loins short, strong and straight. The hips are leaning as little as possible. Chest deep, ribs well expanded. The tail is set high and curled. Precursor bones are strong. The shoulders are moderately sloping. The paws are oval and compact. The hindquarters are moderately angled. The inner thighs are muscular and strong.

Coat: Thick coat, relatively short on the head and legs, and long on the neck, chest, back, tail and thighs. The undercoat is soft and dense.

Color: Pale yellow, ranging from very bright to reddish-yellow, with some black and some not black at the ends of the hair; there is a single black, but the neck, chest and claws are white and pure Bright colors.

Gait: Easy, good drive, confident gait. Temperament Brave, energetic and friendly.

Character: A lively, studious, unaware guard. They are good-looking, love making friends, are loyal, and love children. However, the character is more impatient.
