Should I add milk to puppy meals?

Many friends feed puppies, I am afraid that the puppy will be undernourished. Like to feed it a little milk, or add milk to the dog's food. In fact, this approach is quite wrong.

Many healthy puppies will experience diarrhea and vomiting after eating and drinking milk. In severe cases, the puppies may even die of dehydration.

This is because the composition of dog milk and cow's milk is completely different. Dog milk contains high protein, high fat and low lactose, while milk contains low protein, low fat and high lactose, and the two components are exactly the same. Conversely, a puppy's stomach cannot absorb and digest milk.

In fact, after weaning, as long as the feed mix is reasonable, puppies do not need to be supplemented with milk powder.

If you must supplement milk for puppies, it is best to use special dog milk powder. If you can't buy it, you can use a small amount of baby milk powder mixed with rice cereal for puppies to eat. Start with a small amount, and then increase the amount of milk powder after the puppies gradually get used to it.
