I. Basic Science Test

Required We know that the first item for each dog to go to the hospital for inspection is the basic physical examination, which is to allow veterinarians to intuitively judge the dog's health status based on the dog's appearance and physical symptoms, mainly including auscultation, palpation and Items such as calling a doctor!

2. Blood test

After completing the basic physical test, the next step is blood test. The blood is then made into a smear, centrifuged, and a blood count test. It can allow doctors to better judge the dog's organ function, blood quality and whether there are parasites in the body!

3. Imaging test

This This process allows the doctor to intuitively see the location and size of the injury in the dog, such as the location of the fracture, the location of the tumor, and the condition of the fetus in the body. It can help them make the final judgment to see if they need medication or surgery, but this test includes 4 categories:

1. X-ray: It can see the condition of the bones, the distribution of fluids and Whether there is a foreign body in the body. It is most commonly used in abdominal examinations after a dog has suffered an accidental injury (such as a broken bone) or swallowed a foreign object. Dog breeds with hip dysplasia should also go to the veterinary hospital for X-ray irradiation of the joints at about 5 months of age.

2. Tomography: Dogs can also do tomography. Tomography combines planar images of X-rays into stereoscopic images. This test is only checked when further tests are needed. Because the dog itself cannot lie on the table obediently for the test, it needs to enter a deep general anesthesia for the test.

3. Ultrasound: Ultrasound can detect abnormalities in the soft tissue structure in the body. For example, the location and size of tumors can be known through differences in acoustic echoes in the liver. Pregnant bitches can also use ultrasound to detect puppies' heartbeats, normal body size and fetal position. However, ultrasound itself cannot penetrate air and bones, so the condition of the lungs and bones cannot be tested. In addition, fat will also interfere with the speed of sound wave penetration, thereby affecting the quality of the picture, so the picture quality will be poor when the obese dog undergoes an ultrasound examination.

4. ECG: It is to measure the current conduction of the heart. After the veterinarian auscultation, if the heart has abnormal heart sounds or frequencies, further ECG tests are required. And some heart diseases can only be determined by electrocardiogram, so it is an indispensable item in the health examination.

IV. Feces and urine test

From ancient times to the present, there has been a saying that the color and smell of feces can be used to judge whether a person or animal is healthy or not. This statement is still in use today. It's just that with the addition of technology, it is more accurate to detect gastrointestinal, blood or kidney problems.
