Central Asian sheepdog has an ancient history of more than 4,000 years. It is an excellent shepherd and guard dog in Central Asia. It is very loyal and friendly to its owner. In the face of prey, it is very brave and fearless, and it may be the descendant of the Asian mastiff. Due to its brave and fearless spirit, it has been used by the Central Asian people to guard the flock for thousands of years and is one of the ancient mastiffs recognized by the Central Asian herdsmen. Among them, the Asian Shepherd has a longer lifespan, generally up to 9-11 years, and is a relatively long-lived dog breed. This variety is rarely seen outside the Central Asian republics.
(1) Overall characteristics
The Central Asian Shepherd is a large dog with a burly stature, a large body and strong muscles. Tall, strong, courageous, self-confident, unassuming, and adaptable to all types of climates, the Central Asian Shepherd has a thick face that may be wrinkled, a long snout, broad and powerful, and a moderately flat skull with sharp concave horns. The drooping ears are flush with the eyes, both amputated at birth, the skin on the neck is protective, the forelegs are well-boned, the shoulders and thighs are muscular, and the broad back is strong and of moderate length.

The eyes of the Central Asian Shepherd are small, oval in shape, with a forward line of sight; deep in the eye sockets, with a large distance between the eyes. The ears are also not large, triangular in shape, drooping, and set low at the base - the ears are set at eye level or slightly below this line. The neck is very strong, cylindrical and thick at the base. The nose is big and dark, and it goes perfectly with the whole face. The base of the tail is set high, and the tail is rolled up in a sickle shape and dragged down to the hocks. The limbs are very straight, broad, and parallel to each other when viewed from the front.
(3) Coat characteristics
The Central Asian Shepherd has a rough, straight, undercoat. According to the length of the coat, it is divided into two types: short hair and long hair. The outer hair of the short hair is 4-5 cm long, without any decorative hair. The outer hair of the long hair is straightened 7-8CM, and there are rich decorative hairs on the ears, neck, hind legs and tail. Coat colors are white, black, gray, straw, tawny (red-brown), gray-brown, tabby, and patchy, spotted.
