The basic characteristics of the American Rex Rabbit are: a small head with a pointed mouth, large and round eyes, medium-length ears, erect and flexible rotation; a slightly longer neck with obvious beard; a narrow chest, a long abdominal cavity, a slightly arched back and waist, and well-developed buttocks. , The muscles are plump, and the ones introduced in our country are mainly white. The American Rex Rabbit has good coat quality, low coarse hair rate and high coat density. Compared with other strains, American Rex rabbits have good adaptability, strong disease resistance, high fertility, and are easy to raise. The disadvantage is that the group is uneven, the average body weight is small, and the American Rex rabbits in some places are degraded seriously, which should be paid enough attention.

2. The German Rex Rabbit was introduced from Germany in 1997 and raised in Luanping County, Chengde City, Hebei Province. The rabbit has the characteristics of large size, fast growth rate and high coat density. The body weight and body size are higher than those of the American and French strains raised under the same conditions. Due to the short introduction time of this rabbit, its adaptability is not as good as that of the American strain, and the reproduction rate is low. But its male parent was crossed with American Rex Rabbit, and the offspring performed very well. Therefore, many places have adopted this method to produce commercial rex rabbits, and the benefits are considerable.

3. The French Rex Rabbit is native to France. In November 1998, a company in Rongcheng, Shandong Province imported 300 French Rex rabbits (100 males and 200 females) from the French Cremo Brothers Breeding Company, in black, white and blue. French Rex rabbits grow and develop fast, female rabbits have good motherhood, strong ability to protect offspring, and large milk production. The commercial rex rabbits are 5-5.5 months old, the weight is 3.8-4.2 kg, the skin area is more than 0.4 square meters, and the coat quality is good, and more than 95% of them meet the first-class skin standard. After the introduction of this strain, it was raised in a fully enclosed rabbit house. It has better production performance and greater production potential. However, it remains to be seen how it performs under the more extensive rearing conditions of farmers.
