There are four most common diseases of scorpions, namely black belly disease, body rot, scorpion lice and blight, and various measures should be taken to prevent the occurrence of these diseases in the process of feeding and management.

Melanosis: The main symptoms are black abdomen, abnormal stools, inactivity, and lack of food. The disease generally occurs in winter or early spring, mainly due to low outside temperature, high humidity, and excessive water in the scorpion body. Reasonably increasing the temperature of the scorpion nest and reducing the humidity can prevent the disease from occurring.

Body rot syndrome: The main symptoms are that the abdomen of the scorpion swells and turns black, does not eat, does not move, and then decomposes all over the body, resulting in a large number of deaths. The disease is mainly due to spoilage of feed or unclean drinking water, and it can be treated with antibacterial drugs such as dysentery and a small amount of yeast tablets. Special attention should be paid to maintaining environmental and dietary hygiene to prevent the occurrence of this disease.

Scorpion lice disease: The main symptom is that the scorpion is extremely restless, and there are yellow powdery mites lurking in the chest and abdomen, and the mites can gradually torture the scorpion to death. The disease is mainly caused by excessive humidity in the scorpion nest. To prevent the disease, 1% bleach solution and 3.5% potassium permanganate solution can be used to disinfect the scorpion nest, and 4.5% formalin solution can also be used for disinfection.

Blight: The main symptoms are yellowing of the scorpion tail, flat front belly and dull body. The disease is mainly due to the long-term lack of water in scorpions. As long as you pay attention to the water supply and keep the humidity in the scorpion nest moderate, you can avoid the occurrence of this disease.
