Fennec fox (scientific name: Vulpes zerda), living in the deserts of northern Africa and West Asia. It is the smallest canine in the world, about the size of a kitten, with ears up to 15 cm long, longer than the ears of the big-eared fox (Otocyon megalotis). The ratio of its ears to its body is second to none among carnivores. Their large ears were developed over a long period of natural selection to dissipate heat through the ears to adapt to the dry and hot desert climate, and at the same time, these large ears can quickly respond to the small sounds around them.
