Chow Chow is not a particularly squeamish dog, but the dog owner is taking care of the Chow on a daily basis At the same time, if you find that your dog has the following symptoms (such as: fever, dehydration, abnormal fur, edema of the limbs), the dog owner should be careful, because your dog may be sick.

1. Vomiting: If a Chow Chow vomits, it may generally be due to stomach problems, enteritis, foreign bodies in the digestive tract, constipation or poisoning. Dogs will vomit as long as the vomiting center is stimulated or the internal organs of the abdomen are sick. If the dog vomits only occasionally; and the spirit, appetite, and bowel movements are normal, there is no need to worry too much. (Some nervous little Chow Chows are more likely to vomit acid water because of hunger in the early morning before breakfast. As long as this phenomenon is not a long-term phenomenon, it is not harmful.)

2. Polyuria and frequent thirst: If your Chow Chow suddenly has increased urine output, increased frequency, and constant thirst; then the puppy may have pyometra or endocrine disorders.

3. Weird behavior: If the chow chow often behaves strangely, it may be that the dog's bones, muscles, joints are diseased, or the nervous system is abnormal.

4. Abnormal vaginal secretions: A normal female Chow Chow has been in heat for about two weeks, and there is still muddy white or dark brown secretions for more than two weeks, and the uterus and bladder are diseased.

5. Diarrhea: If a dog has diarrhea, it is usually after a sudden change of food, or a virus of parasite bacteria invades. (Or the Chow Chow is allergic to food, allergic to some pesticides and poisoning.)

6. Dehydration: When vomiting and diarrhea and losing water, the skin easily loses its elasticity. This is different from the skin clinging to the skeletal muscles when the Chow is thin.

7. The fur is different: the dog loses its luster, loses hair, danders more, the epidermis is red, swollen and ruptured, itching, and there are lumps or plaques under the skin. In this case, the dog may be sick.

8. Appetite suddenly improves: If the Chow Chow dog suddenly has a better appetite, it may be due to endocrine abnormalities, such as hyperadrenalism.

9. Shortness of breath, asthma, cough: upper airway stenosis, foreign body, pneumonia, emphysema, pulmonary edema, pleural effusion, heart disease, etc.

10. Fever: If the Chow Chow dog has a fever, it is usually caused by the invasion of bacterial pathogens or heat stroke. Generally, seek medical attention as soon as possible or place the dog in a cool place to rest.
