The jerboa is the largest species of the jerboaidae. The ears are long, exceeding the full length of the skull. The base of the tail is long, on average exceeding the length of the body, and the tail has a hairy spike. The top of the base of the tail is the same color as the back of the body, and the tail has black and white flat hair spikes. The history of the skull is slender, and the skull is broad and raised, without obvious ridges. The zygomatic arch is thin and weak, wider in the rear, with vertical upward branches, extending along the rear of the outer edge of the infraorbital foramen to the vicinity of the ribs. The palatal foramen is very long, the end extending beyond the upper premolars and reaching the anterior stage of the first upper molars. The listening bubbles are small and not particularly enlarged. The upper incisors are strongly sloping forward, and the lip surface is not grooved. The upper premolars are larger and columnar. The chewing surfaces of the first and second upper molars are more complicated. The mandibular premolars are missing, and there are 3 molars, the first one is larger and gradually becomes smaller afterward. Habitat in the foothills grasslands and hilly areas at an altitude of 2,500 meters on Feathergrass and sedge grass. Feeds on green parts and seeds of plants, and also feeds on insects.
