What

Vietnamese Giant Centipede

Rearing in spring

The temperature in early spring is low, and the centipedes that recover from stings are greatly affected by the temperature, and their activity and digestion are not strong. After Qingming, adjust the humidity of the nest soil to 20%. At this stage, the temperature is lower than 15 °C, and no feeding is required to avoid bloating caused by eating too early or overeating. At the beginning of the meal, take 600 pieces as an example. First, use half a tablet of mother to grind it into powder, mix with milk powder and water to let the centipede suck it. It needs to be fed for 2 to 3 days, which has the effect of strengthening the stomach and helping the centipede to digest.

Summer feeding

After the beginning of summer, the centipede began to move frequently, and the temperature entered the breeding period when the temperature was 25℃. During this period, the humidity should be adjusted well. Too dry it will easily affect the embryonic development, and too wet will easily lead to illness. During this period, the nest soil should be kneaded into a ball, the loose hands can spread, and the moisture content of 22% to 25% is appropriate. Centipedes lay eggs and hatch in a quiet environment. If disturbed, they are prone to eating eggs and larvae. Therefore, it is necessary to observe diligently, do a good job of checking the litter and induce labor, and keep the females to be laid separately.

In the hot summer, it is necessary to do a good job of cooling down and preventing heatstroke. Adjust the temperature between 20°C and 32°C. In addition to keeping the feed fresh every day, preventive medicines are given 1 to 2 times a month for the diseases that may occur to centipedes to ensure that the centipedes can spend the summer safely and successfully complete the hatching task.

Feeding in autumn

After the beginning of autumn, it turns to the rainy season, during which the soil humidity is about 22%. After the autumnal equinox, when the relative humidity of the air is about 75%, the food intake of the centipede increases sharply, and the metabolic process also accelerates. It is necessary to increase the amount of food supplied to allow the centipede to grow and develop, so as to facilitate the molting and storage of nutrients.

Breeding in winter

Centipedes gradually enter hibernation when the weather turns cold at the end of November each year. Keep it at about 25 ℃, so that the centipede does not sleep over the winter, which can improve its reproductive ability.
