[Etiology]

Mechanical injury: such as fighting and playing between animals;

Ear parasitic itch mites: due to itching Violent shaking of the ear and rubbing the affected ear caused contusion of the auricle and rupture of the blood vessels in the auricle.

【Symptoms】

After the hematoma formed, the auricle thickened several times, sag, and felt fluctuating and painful when pressed.

It often recurs after puncture and bloodletting, and multiple punctures are prone to infection and suppuration.

【Treatment】

Small ear hematoma generally does not need treatment, and it will be absorbed by itself. For larger ear hematoma, after puncture and bloodletting, put an appropriate amount of cotton on the inside of the auricle and then put a pressure ear bandage on it and keep it for 7 to 10 days. If conservative therapy is ineffective, a 1-1.5 cm long longitudinal incision can be made on one side of the hematoma after disinfection to drain the accumulated blood and clot, and then a number of scattered full-thickness nodules of the auricle parallel to the incision can be sutured to eliminate the hematoma cavity. After surgery, ear bandages can be installed to apply appropriate pressure to stop bleeding and exudation.
