How to feed red worms:

1. Red worms like to live in In the slow-flowing fertile water, the end of spring and the beginning of autumn each year is the season for the mass reproduction of red worms. They float on the water surface and often make the water surface reddish brown. This is an excellent opportunity for us to collect red worms.

2. When a small amount of red worms are raised at home, the sludge from the river pond together with the red worms can be retrieved and placed in a basin or glass vessel, preferably soaked in river water. Dry the tap water for 2 to 3 days beforehand to get out the bleaching powder and other substances. Change the water every other day. To prevent freezing in winter, place a damp red cloth strip on the utensil to moisturise.

3. It is most suitable to use a container with a relatively large area of contact with the air, because the red worms will float to the surface and have a similar breathing action, so if the number is large, I am afraid that some of them will not be able to compete for a place and die. .

4. Light source is necessary for feeding red worms. The light source cannot be turned off at night, and a small light source (such as a 5w night light, etc.) can be used to illuminate it at night. Because red worms are too lazy to breathe, if there is no light source, they will easily die the next day.

5. There are specialized farms, and most of them use rice bran, sawn, banana peel, bagasse, silt, pigeon manure, etc. to ferment and then make breeding feed. For home-bred red worms, you can feed them with yeast powder soaked in water, but you must control the amount.

6. When the number of red worms increases, harvest them in time and dry them in the sun. By late fall and winter, the fecundity of red worms is greatly reduced. In winter, when red worms are not visible in the tank, do not dump the water in the tank, because they are all lurking in the green algae. We can put the water tank in the sunny room or near the radiator. In spring, when the indoor temperature rises, the red worms come out again. When the room temperature rises above 28°C, the red worms begin to multiply.
