Problems that are easily overlooked in turtle breeding

2022-01-30 / 124 Read

If you don't have a pair of eyes to discover beauty, no matter how you travel, it's no use. We must love life, be positive, and be good at discovering things around us. It is impossible to raise small animals only by love. If there is a lack of eyes to discover, pets will be sick, and they will not know anything about their abnormal emotions. If you look into the details, you will find that you will find them in your daily life. Unbelievable beauty.

Problems

1. Breathing

Turtles breathe by stretching their necks and limbs, and exhale first , and then inhale. This special breathing method is called pharynx breathing, referred to as guixi, oh no, it should be turtle suction. The telescopic movement of the neck and limbs of the turtle is not actually compressing the lung tissue, but compressing the left and right air sacs to promote gas exchange in the bronchi in the central cavity. Breathless breathing is based on the dysplasia of the tortoise lung, and the air sacs and central cavity make up for the respiratory function of the tortoise lung. It is normal for the turtle's neck to bulge like a frog when it breathes.

Second, vocalization

Turtles have no vocal cords, so they are all dumb. However, some aggressive turtles (such as the olecranon) will, like their relatives, the snake, inhale the gas first, then exhale it quickly, making a whoosh sound to intimidate the opponent and frighten the opponent. Walk the enemy.

3. Teeth

Although turtles do not have teeth, their bite force cannot be ignored. It is very painful to be bitten, especially the olecranon This kind of guy with a hook and a predator like a bull (a predator with a carapace of more than 20CM can easily bite off an adult's finger). There are bacteria in the turtle's mouth, and it is best to disinfect it if it is bitten.

Four. Nails

Tortoises rely on their nails to cooperate with their mouths to tear food, so don't cut their nails casually. If a turtle's nail is broken, it can grow back as long as it is not broken, but it will take a long time.

V. Hearing

Like other reptiles, turtles have basically degenerated ears. No sound can be heard, but vibrations can be felt. Turtles are more sensitive to ground vibrations than air vibrations. When raising turtles, they will come over whether they call their name or tap the floor, but they come faster and earlier when they tap the floor. This is because the vibration of the air causes the ground to resonate, and the turtle notices the vibration of the ground. Whether the turtle is sensitive to ground vibration or air vibration can be verified in breeding.

6. Vision & Smell

Turtles mainly rely on sight and smell to identify food. The food they like is mainly characterized by the following characteristics - bright color and strong aroma/fishy smell. Turtles mainly rely on vision to find food, and tortoises rely more on smell than vision when determining whether food is edible or not.
