Washing once in about seven to ten days in summer and about two weeks in winter - back is enough. So what should we pay attention to when bathing the dog?

Precautions

Bathing precautions

1 , Before taking a bath, decorate the whole body with a brush to avoid more entangled hair. In particular, clean up the hair knots, mud, tar, and chewing gum residues, and then squeeze the anal glands (for this part, please ask the doctor for the correct squeeze method).

2. Put a collar on the dog before bathing it, so that you can control it while bathing. The ears can be plugged vertically with a cotton swab or cotton sliver (do not use cotton balls, otherwise half of the wash. The cotton ball will fall off as soon as the dog shakes his head) vertically plug the T-shaped ear canal. Use chlortetracycline, diminomycin or KY ointment on both eyes to prevent shampoo and dirty water from entering.

3. Let the dog stand firmly in the special bathtub, first dip it in the appropriate water temperature to wet the whole body, and gently comb the dog's hair to make the dog feel comfortable and quiet to have a bath preparation.

4. Drop the shampoo, first apply the shampoo on the back, rub from the back to the buttocks, rub the whole body to make foam, and finally wash the dog's head, ears, The soles of the feet, chin, and around the anus should be washed. It is important to avoid getting the foam into your dog's eyes. Although shampoos bought in pet stores are marked with words like non-irritating to the eyes, so far, there has been no shampoo that dogs like. So the only way is to be careful. While scrubbing lightly, hold the dog's collar with one hand so that the dog does not jump out or get water all over the place.

5. Start flushing. The direction of flushing is to wash the dog's head first, and then the dog's body. Rinse gradually from the head to the back. Don't scratch your head. After washing, be sure to rinse the shampoo thoroughly. Make sure you have completely washed the residual lotion on the dog. It is recommended that you use conditioner every time. The acid-base balance is conducive to thoroughly washing the residual lotion on the dog. These things remain on the dog, it will cause itchy skin, and the dog can easily cause inflammation and infection in the process of scratching.

6. Dry the dog with a large towel that can completely wrap the dog, remove the cotton ball inside the dog's ear, and wipe it clean. Wipe with a towel first, and then dry it with a hair dryer. Be sure to dry it, otherwise the dog will easily catch a cold. If your dog doesn't have skin problems, you can dry it with a hair dryer on the warm setting, brushing your dog's fur as you blow. If your dog is suffering from a skin condition, allow the dog to air dry without catching a cold, as the heat from the hair dryer can further irritate the itching in the affected area.

How to dry your dog after a bath

For long-haired dogs, just dry with a towel and simply blow dry with a hair dryer One pass is not enough, you have to open the hair with your fingers or a brush and blow it carefully again to ensure it is dry. When blowing, you should try the hot air with your hands from time to time, and then blow it after confirming that it is not too hot. And you can't blow one part in a row. If the hot air is sprayed directly on its eyes, there is a danger of damaging the cornea, and special attention should be paid to this. Short-haired dogs can simply blow dry their coats, but long-haired dogs should brush them again when the body hair is dry to smoothen the coat.
