1. Tools needed for sportswear

Beauty table, electric scissors, electric scissors head (size 15, 10), beauty scissors (7-inch straight scissors, curved scissors), wire brush or needle brush, beautician comb. Also includes: knot opener, toenail clippers, hemostatic forceps, hemostatic powder, hair dryer, absorbent towel, beauty waterproof apron, pet shampoo, absorbent cotton, eye wash, ear plucking powder, knot opening powder, Untie the knife.

2. Preparation before trimming

Brushing can remove the hair knots on the poodle and check the skin condition . When brushing, the bristles should be combed with a needle first. The advantage of the needle comb is that it is not easy to break the hair, and it is best to use a stainless steel or softer needle comb. The method of combing is to start from the feet, from the bottom to the top, from the tail to the head, and brush layer by layer in order, so that most of the knots can be untied. If the dead knots are difficult to untangle, you can sprinkle some points on the hair to untangle. Cream, and comb the knots with a knotter.

After finishing the bristles, comb with a beauty comb (wide and narrow tooth comb). Comb with the wide-toothed side first, so that the knot can be untied more deeply, but pay attention to the appropriate force, otherwise it will easily break the hair and hurt the dog. After the wide-tooth comb is finished, use the narrow-tooth comb again. Until the coat is smooth and free of tangles.

To clean the ears, first pour an appropriate amount of ear hair powder into the ear hole, and then gently pierce the ear hole, so that the ear hair powder is fully in contact with the ear hair and the ear canal, so that the ear is clean. It will become astringent and easy to pull out. When pulling out, the action should be fast and steady. Sometimes the ear hole is very small, and it can be done with ear hair pliers if the finger cannot pull it out. Be sure to hold the dog's head securely with the ear pliers. The next step is cleaning. First, use ear hair forceps to make a cotton swab, dip it in an appropriate amount of ear washing water, first clean the dog's external ear canal, and then clean the deep part that can be seen. It should be noted that whether it is plucking the ear hair or cleaning the ear canal, it must be visible to the eyes.

Apply some eye drops before bathing to prevent eye diseases. Fix the dog's head with one hand and drop the eye drops with the other, and then gently massage the corners of the eyes.

When trimming the nails, follow the three-step cutting method and move quickly, cut the nails into shorter circles, and then use a nail file to round the surface of the nails. If the black nails are not easy to see the blood line, you can cut them a little bit until you can see the tender meat. If you bleed while trimming your nails, apply firm pressure to the toes with your fingers to control the bleeding, and press the bleeding vessel with a hemostatic powder for a few seconds to stop the bleeding.

Squeeze the anal glands before taking a bath. Wet the anus with water first, the skin will become soft and the dog will relax. With the left hand, lift the dog's tail up so that the anus is protruding. Place the thumb and index finger of the right hand on the dog's anus, feel the two hard protrusions, squeeze inward and upward, and the weight is appropriate until the liquid is ejected. Then squeeze again from above with your left thumb and index finger. Wash the anus with warm water after making sure there is no fluid. When starting a bath, plug the dog's ears with cotton to prevent water from entering the ear canal. Test the water temperature before taking a bath. The temperature of the bath water is preferably 35-45 degrees Celsius. Wet the limbs first, then the body, and finally wash the hair. Then choose a suitable shampoo according to the different hair of the dog. After the shampoo is diluted in proportion, pour it on the dog, rub the rich foam in the order of limbs → body → head, and rinse it off with warm water. Dirty dogs can be washed more. 1-2 times, wash and dry with an absorbent towel.

Dry immediately after bathing to avoid colds and skin diseases caused by moisture build-up. VIPs cannot use a water blower, they need to use a hair dryer for hair removal. Turn on the hair dryer and use a wire brush to dry the hair from the head. Pay attention to the gestures. The surface of the wire brush should be perpendicular to the skin instead of parallel, otherwise it will hurt the skin and cause a large area of bleeding. When pulling hair, you should pull it layer by layer, in the order of head→body→extremities, and other parts that have not been brushed should be covered with an absorbent towel to keep them relatively moist.

The poodle is the most dressed dog among all dog breeds. Poodle dress is the most complicated and also the most test of pet groomer's skills. Sportswear is only one of many dresses, and because of the difference of the dog itself, the effect of trimming is slightly different. Because it is a pet installed on the basis of the above, some changes can be made. For example, dyeing, wearing some small accessories, etc., can make the poodle more cute and unique. The trimming of sportswear must be based on the specific conditions of the dog, not blindly rigid. If the dog itself has serious defects, you can relatively rely on the method of trimming to cover up the defects.
