Bathing knowledge

Dogs' fur tends to get dirty and needs to be bathed regularly. Usually once a week in summer and once every two weeks in winter, when it is a little dirty, just wipe it with a damp towel. Use warm water for bathing, do not use cold water, use pet shampoo, do not use human shampoo, soap, wash clean, clean spirit. Use cotton pads to plug your ears when bathing to prevent water from entering your ears and causing inflammation of the ear canal. Mix the shampoo in the water, and then put the dog in the water for a bath. After bathing, use a dry towel to absorb the moisture on the coat, and then blow dry with an electric blower while combing. Do not let it dry in the sun or naturally, which can easily make the dog sick. Pay attention to drying the bottom hair, focusing on the neck, armpit, groin, and between the fingers of the limbs, otherwise it is prone to skin diseases.

Before we understand the necessity of bathing a dog, let's first understand the skin structure and physiological characteristics of a dog. The dog's skin is less resistant to external stimuli than humans. The human skin epidermis has 10 -15 layers, PH5.5 (slightly acidic), with sweat glands, while dog skin epidermis has only 3-5 layers, PH7.5 (neutral), short skin metabolism cycle, no sweat glands. These determine that the best human shampoo is not suitable for dogs. Too frequent bathing, incomplete drying, sebaceous glands are easily damaged, the coat is rough and dull, and it is easy to suffer from skin diseases. Some owners are especially hygienic and bathe their dogs several times a day or week, which is obviously not right. In addition, the dog's lips and facial hygiene can not be ignored, wash with a towel after eating. Cleaning of the anus and urethra area should not be forgotten either.
