Germansheepdog
There is such a saying: a good female animal, a good litter; a good male animal, a good slope. It can be seen that raising a good breeder German shepherd is very important. The purpose of our breeding male dogs is to breed to produce good offspring, and this is no doubt for breeders. What are the requirements and criteria for selecting a male dog? There are some basic requirements: good development, strong physique, and strong sexual desire. The breeding ability is strong, the semen quality is good, the sperm density is high, and the vitality is strong. To meet this requirement, the following aspects must be done.
I. Nutrition
Because the dog itself is large and easy to fatten, it is necessary to feed the male dog reasonably, so as to be comprehensive in nutrition and at the same time. Don't waste. Feed should be rich in protein and vitamins. Dogs with heavy mating tasks can be kept at a higher nutritional level all the time, while dogs with lighter mating tasks can be fed with enhanced nutritional levels during the mating period. When feeding, do timing, quantitative, heat preservation, and quality assurance, and feed 80% of each meal to ensure sufficient supply of clean drinking water. Excessive breed dogs can appropriately reduce the feed supply or reduce the nutrient level in the feed, while the overly thin breed dogs are the opposite. A good male dog should be well fed, with a compact abdomen and strong energy.
Second, exercise
Male dogs should be kept in a single pen and exercise reasonably. Appropriate exercise can promote appetite, enhance physical fitness, avoid puffiness, improve libido and sperm motility. Male dogs should exercise 2 to 3 times a day in the large sports field or in the wild, each time not less than half an hour. In general dog farms, in the case of self-breeding and self-raising, the number of male dogs will not be too many, and the management staff can lead them one by one. The affinity of personnel is conducive to daily feeding and management, and it is also conducive to auxiliary breeding by management personnel during breeding.
For male dogs during the breeding season or too thin male dogs, exercise can be appropriately reduced, and during non-breeding seasons or overly fat male dogs can be appropriately increased. Take a walk for half an hour after each breeding.
Third, brushing
The male dogs were brushed 1 to 2 times a day, and bathed frequently in summer. Such male dogs are docile, lively, robust, sexually active, and highly attached to feeding tube personnel.
4. Regularly check the quality of semen
At present, most of the countries use this method, and it is enough to check the quality of semen once a month. However, when switching from non-breeding season to breeding season, inspections should be made for several consecutive days, so as to adjust nutrition, exercise and breeding frequency according to the inspection results to ensure the quality of breeding.
V. Utilize
Male dogs can be first bred at 1 to 1.5 years old, and the mating intensity should be 2 to 3 days. Breeding age is 7 to 8 years. Especially excellent male dogs, if they are paired once a day, they should rest 2 days a week. Breeding in summer can be done in the morning or evening when the weather is cool, and in winter when it is warm at noon. It should be noted that breeding is not allowed within 2 hours after eating to avoid reflex vomiting, which should be remembered.
