History

Korat originated in Thailand The Khao Lat Plateau in the northwest is an ancient breed. This species was introduced to the United States from Thailand in 1959, and was recognized by American cat lovers in 1965. It took 10 years for the UK to recognise the cat. The Khao Lat cat, also known as the Korat cat, is named after a province in Thailand where it originated. Thai people often give the bride a pair of cats representing auspicious celebrations as a traditional wedding gift.

Character

Colat is relatively quiet , giving people a sense of dignity and introversion. The bark is very soft, very gentle, and likes to be close to people.
