Scoco cat

History:

In 1987 in Wyoming, a straight-coated female Mating with a curly tomcat produced a cat named Miss DEPESTOOFNOFACE, which was adopted by Montana breeder JERI NEWMAN.

Miss DEPESTO mated with a black Persian cat named PHOTO FINISH in 1988 and produced 3 curly-coated kittens. It later mates with one of its own cubs and produces cubs that are also curly-coated. The breed takes its name from the nearby SELKIRK mountain.

The gene of this breed's curly hair is different from that of other breeds. Lex looks like an alien visitor, while SELKIRK Lex looks more like one.

It has become widespread in the United States and made its way to Europe in 1990, but is still rare there.
