Red

Red-bellied snakes are usually found under litter, wood-covered ground, or damp, low-lying grass, and sometimes under folded metal sheets, usually in late spring. The red-bellied snake can tolerate a certain degree of human disturbance and is accustomed to preying in the bright light of the day, however, its small size makes it extremely inconspicuous. The red-bellied snake mainly feeds on soft-bodied prey, such as slugs, worms, or snails.
