The male Pole Viper is 435 to 500 mm in length, and the female Pole Viper is 505 to 560 mm in length. The size varies according to the place of origin, the average is 55cm, the largest can reach 90cm, and there are even records of 104cm.

The polar northern viper mostly lives in temperate, boreal forest areas and Prairie meadow area. Broad-leaved forests, coniferous forests, mixed forests and swamps. Take shelter in tree root caves or under rocks. Vertical distribution up to 2700m mountain. The food is mainly rodents, but also frogs, lizards, etc. The juvenile polar viper mainly eats insects and worms.
