The green snake is a national protected animal

The green snake has been included in the 2014 IUCN Red List of Threatened Species ver3.1: Least Concern. It has been included in the List of Terrestrial Wild Animals Protected by the State that are Beneficial or Have Important Economic and Scientific Research Value issued by the State Forestry Administration of China on August 1, 2000.

The green snake likes a humid environment, The suitable humidity for the activity is 70%-80%, and the suitable temperature is 22-27℃. Mainly active during the day, in the grass and suburban roads, or in the shady woods, and often crouching on the bamboo forest or fern leaves at night. Fast and agile, mild-mannered, not aggressive. It will run away quickly when it sees an unknown object in the wild. Wild green snakes feed on earthworms, frogs and small insects.
