Brandhead snakes will attack people when they feel threatened. The iron-headed snake is one of the six venomous snakes in Taiwan, and its venom is still very strong.

Next, let's talk about the physical characteristics of the iron-headed snake. The body is thick and short, and the body color ranges from yellowish brown to dark brown. There is a vertical row of irregular black diamond-shaped plaques on the midline of the back, and the abdomen is grayish white. There are dark brown spots on the distribution, body scales 19 or 21 columns. The head of the iron-headed snake is relatively round and blunt, slightly triangular, with a dark stripe from the back of the eyes, through the corner of the mouth to the side of the neck, and a pair of cheek sockets, located between the nostrils and the eyes.
