Wang Taipan snake is only distributed in Australia and New Guinea islands and is not a national protected animal. It is the largest venomous snake in Australia and the third most venomous among terrestrial venomous snakes.

Wang Taipan snake inhabits inaccessible dry plains, grasslands and deserts and dry riverbeds. They often live in rat dens, deep cracks or hollows in the ground, and sometimes in crevices and holes in walls. The Wang Taipan snake often hunts in the cracks in the dry mud on the beach.
